ROBERT H. ANDERSON, Head, Information Sciences Group, RAND
Dr. Anderson is a senior computer scientist at RAND. His prior positions at RAND include serving as head of its Information Sciences Department and director of its Information Processing Techniques research program. He has been Executive Vice President of Interactive Systems Corporation in Santa Monica, and has performed a number of consulting assignments on computer information systems for the U.N. Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Vienna, and others. During 1992-1995, he was Editor-in-Chief of The Information Society. His current research interests include security and safety issues in cyberspace and the societal impacts of the continuing information revolution. Dr. Anderson is a professor of information science at the RAND Graduate School. Among his recent publications, he is the principal author of the book, Securing the U.S. Defense Information Infrastructure: A Proposed Approach (RAND, 1999), and co-author of The Vulnerability Assessment & Mitigation Methodology: Finding and Fixing Vulnerabilities in Information Systems (RAND, 2003), and Improving the Composability of Department of Defense Models and Simulations (RAND, 2003). Dr. Anderson is a member of the Cyber Conflict Studies Association. He received his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University. |
